Upgrade 2nd December 2015 - Image manager now available under 'Campaigns' and in surveys and forms

dotmailer's scheduled maintenance and upgrade for 2nd December 2015 includes:

  • The Image manager is now accessible as a standalone tool, outside of EasyEditor. You'll find it under the 'Campaigns' menu, and it's also available when adding an image in the surveys and forms tool.

It makes life that little bit more convenient. You no longer need to be working within a campaign or landing page to be able to manage your images and folders.

And when it comes to dragging and dropping a new image block from the 'Build' tab into a survey or form, you're now able to select an image from your library via the Image manager, rather than having to upload a new image every time. You can also edit you image whenever you wish, something which wasn't previously possible in the survey and forms editor.

  • Over 40 bugs have been resolved too, which includes fixes for issues with EasyEditor in IE9, issues with the EasyEditor preview sometimes not working, triggered campaigns not getting sent after completion of a survey and the 'Emails skipped' report not taking suppressed contacts into account.

Thanks Neal, but it would have been super useful to have a list of all new features in advance, rather than have to deal with multiple questions from our account users on changes to their usual account appearance. For example what is the '1 column' text for with the icon of 3 columns on the block headers now? There's also a settings box. This isn't clear or self-explanatory - i'm guessing there's more info to come on this??

Thanks for your comment. This was a setting that shouldn't have been included in the upgrade, and it has now been removed. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

OK thanks Neal! Has anything been changed with the Image Library - we used to be able to hover over an image and see the size of image info and date etc. but this no longer works, can we have it back please?

Unfortunately there was a bug associated with this, which needs to be fixed. Apologies that this functionality isn't currently available but you should see it back after our next upgrade on Wednesday 6th January. In the meantime, to work around this, please use the list view to see this information.

OK great thanks Neal, I'll do that and I look forward to the new release on 6 Jan. Will this include improved folder function for the image manager too?

There aren't any improvements due in terms of the Image manager's folder functionality. Out of interest though, can I ask what improvements you'd like to see?

Image manager - it would be great to have better organisation of folders, if they could be opened and closed, as just having one long list is really unruly to manage. [point also made here https://support.dotmailer.com/hc/en-gb/community/posts/207518357-Image-Manager-Sorting-folders]

Also, being able to select images in bulk to delete would be very useful

So the changes to the way columns work appeared whilst I was running training again today - guessing the column spec is something that is meant to be there this time?? "This was a setting that shouldn't have been included in the upgrade, and it has now been removed." Any plans to announce what this new feature is? Or just roll it out?

Hi, Thanks for your question. We announce feature releases immediately after we've completed an upgrade in the 'Announcements' > 'Feature releases' section. Here's Wednesday's announcement - https://support.dotmailer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/215407448-Upgrade-6th-Janaury-2016-EasyEditor-s-new-Columns-and-Spacer-blocks

If you aren't subscribed to the 'Feature releases' section already, I'd recommend doing that, just so the announcements are always sent to you.
