You can greet visitors by name to your microsites and landing pages and personalise the content they see.
Using personalisation with a microsite
To use personalisation with your microsite, access the Microsite area of the application from the dropdown menu at the very top of the screen (it will probably read Email if you haven't accessed any of the other areas of the application after logging in):
Your microsites are displayed on the 'My sites' page:
If you have not yet created your microsite then you need to do this first.
Click on the View pages icon alongside the appropriate microsite. The pages for the microsite are listed:
Click on the Edit icon to display the content of a page in the editor:
Add the text to personalise your content. After doing so, move your cursor to the location where the personalisation field is to be inserted. In our example, we are going to add the first name of our recipient, so our cursor is going to be just after the 'Hello' shown in our text.
Click on the Insert action button located just above the toolbar. A pop-up window is displayed, which should already default to the 'Personalise' tab:
All the contact data fields within your address books are listed. You can add any of these to your content. Click on the Insert link alongside the appropriate contact data field.
The field you selected is now displayed within the page's content:
When the recipient now clicks a link in your campaign and goes to the landing page, the page text will be personalised as shown below:
Note: When adding personalisation, you may want to consider setting default contact data field values in the event that the contact data field you are using contains no value. This will safeguard against any embarrassing blanks!
