Upgrade 7 November 2012 — Maintenance deploy

Scheduled maintenance and upgrade for dotMailer on 7th November 2012 includes the following upgrades and changes:

Preparatory work for our new APIs

We don't have any new big shiny features with this update; but there's a whole lot of work done on our new APIs which will be released soon.

If anyone is planning a large API integration and would be interested in using either our new SOAP API, or our new REST API, please let us know.

Other tweaks and improvements

We've also upgraded and tweaked a several other features including:

  • The link to our Facebook page in the application footer has been updated
  • The 'view in browser' version of emails could sometimes display incorrectly if they included a link to a survey; this has now been resolved
  • It was possible for a user to complete 9 out 8 steps when setting up their dotMailer account; this temporary breach of the laws of mathematics has now been fixed
  • The time between SMS challenges (when using two factor authentication) has been cut from an hour to 30 seconds
  • SMS challenges for IP verification can now go to non-UK mobile numbers
  • Users not opted into automatic domain renewals can no longer select expired addresses on the campaign setup page
  • The reminders have been improved for those not opting in to automatic domain renewal
  • Selected test addresses were sometimes not staying fixed to the top of the test address book
  • Additional checks are now made when adding new images to new campaigns
  • The export of suppressed contacts now includes the 'removed reason' column
  • Some triggers were being sent 15 minutes early
  • The formatting of text to the right of the menu bar (e.g. 'Verify your account') has been fixed
  • The managed user permissions for editing campaigns have been tidied up
